Mendoza

Moving right along... We travelled for 4 hours through very similar drier Pampa scenery into and out of some hills and back onto the flats. Scrubby country except where there has been some irrigation introduced. The Governor of the San Luis region loves colour and art so the underpasses and lamp posts etcetera including one very dead tree are all painted nice and bright. Adds interest to the views. 👌🏻
Narrow 2 lane roads going each way with speed restrictions from 60 to 130 depending on vehicle type. We averaged about 90 and were passing a lot of vehicles so were obviously on target.
Bent trunk at Zucchardi vineyard showing us how they propogate new plants from torrentes grapes - an old white variety from the  Mendoza area. The Malbec is the speciality here but they grow lots of other types. Superb lunch here.

Views from around Mendoza:
Gutters /canals - wouldn't want to fall in - date back to last century and getting water to the city. Lots of trees planted alongside.
Devine degustion lunch at Norton Estate. Has been here over 100 years. Pretty amazing place,
Rabbit tortilenni
King of the wine cellar.
Selfie with some bottles. They sell over 28 million bottles annually
Tomorrow we are flying over the Alps to Santiago to make our flight to Lima. Unfortunately the road is closed with over a metre of snow. Won't be open for a few days. Back soon from Peru. Xx
